Katie Nolan tests ESPN's new politics policy by calling President Trump stupid

Nolan spends much of the profanity-filled clip answering questions about her time at ESPN and various other stops in her career before turning at the 13-minute mark to talk about whether certain hand gestures signify some sort of racist code.

Recent ESPN hire Katie Nolan blasted President Trump with some pretty disparaging remarks on Wednesday night, and her new employer is not happy.

ESPN's newest star Katie Nolan called President Donald Trump "a f***ing stupid person" on a podcast for Viceland this week, testing the boundaries of the sports network's policies on political commentary from their on-air employees.

The policy applies to ESPN employees on social media so Nolan didn't technically violate the guidelines since she was not posting online.

"That's because he's a f-- stupid person", said Nolan. That policy stems from the controversy surrounding Jemele Hill, who called Trump a white supremacist on Twitter and was later suspended for discussing a boycott of the National Football League advertisers. That led to a back-and-forth between the president and ESPN.

ESPN issued revised guidelines on social media and political commentary late a year ago.

While some people may be offended by the nature of Nolan's comments, it's unlikely that she will face any severe punishment due to the platform and tone of the appearance. She also is starring in SportsCenter on SnapChat videos.

"This has nothing to do with where on the political spectrum you fall", Kellerman said.
