Game that was: "Going out there to win"

OJ Simpson Still in Nevada For The Bills Game Jaguars defense shines in wild-card win over Bills

It went from ugly at 0-0 after 27 minutes to downright heinous in the time and effort it took to net two field goals in the run-up to halftime. They own four picks in the first two rounds, including the Kansas City Chiefs' first-round pick and the Los Angeles Rams' second-round selection.

Prior to Sunday, the Jaguars' last playoff win was a 31-29 victory at Pittsburgh on January 5, 2008, and their last home playoff win was a 62-7 demolishing of Miami on January 15, 2000. The Jaguars stunned the Steelers 30-9 in early October. But do the Jaguars have a chance if they play the way they did offensively against the Bills?

Blake Bortles can thank the Buffalo Bills' offense for sending the Jacksonville Jaguars to the divisional round of the playoffs. Both offenses struggled to generate any type of excitement all game. Bills QB Tyrod Taylor was thrown down hard to the ground on a sack by Dante Fowler, with Taylor's head snapping back.

Most folks were quick to point out that no one expected the Bills to be in the playoffs when the season started.

It's also worth noting that every team in the league averaged more than 170 passing yards per game in 2017.

Rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman, a Bartram Trail grad, ran for 4 yards on the ensuing fourth-and-3 play. The Jags would answer back to close out the half as Buffalo's defense held strong again to force the field goal. "Once we got in the dance, we didn't want to be one and done". Jacksonville went for it, and Bortles found tight end Ben Koyack for the touchdown to put them up 10-3 after the made extra point.

Game. Blouses. That was the difference.

"I wanted to win this game and get it rolling". Bortles was off all day, but made up for it with his legs. Peterman's 14-yard completion late was the fourth-longest play from scrimmage all day for the Bills, who netted only 263 yards of offense. He did so in a way that reminded us of some of the better mobile quarterbacks in college football history, gaining a career-high 88 yards on 10 attempts in a 10-3 win over Buffalo.

"It was emotional going through the national anthem and looking around and you see the playoffs and wild-card logos and I was like, 'Man, all these teams are at home and we're playing.' I remember a year ago watching the playoffs so this is a blessing to be in and to be able to capitalize on this opportunity and keep going".

Why no LeSean McCoy there? At age 34, Williams may have played his last game as a Bill, much like Taylor. McCoy also had 44 yards receiving. When Buffalo had 1st and goal, just outside of the one, they called a pass play that resulted in offensive pass interference and them being pushed off of the goal line.

McCoy was pretty incredible, all things considered. However, Fournette had less than 70 rushing yards in each of the last two weeks. All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey says "I'm sure they're thinking that game was a fluke". The Jaguars, however, foolishly jumped offsides so Buffalo had first-and-goal at the 1. Jaguars running backs rushed for just 62 yards on 23 carries, and the offense produced just 230 total yards.

The dramatic score capped a 15-play, 86-yard march by the Jaguars that took almost nine minutes.

Westbrook was the only Jaguars receiver to catch a pass in the game.
