Denhollander joined 2012 Olympic gold medalist Jordyn Wieber and others this week in unveiling a proposed rewrite of MI law that would, among other responses to Nassar's abuses, greatly lengthen the time limit for victims of sexual assault to sue.

Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman is suing the U.S. Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics for their response to a sexual abuse scandal involving former team doctor Larry Nassar, according to multiple reports.

Raisman filed suit in California and alleged that the committee knew or should have known about the claims of sexual misconduct that more than 200 people have against the former doctor in MI.

The siblings joined a federal lawsuit against Nassar, USA Gymnastics and Michigan State.

The complaint says Nassar sexually abused Raisman at the Karolyi Ranch National Training Center in Walker County, Texas, at national and worldwide competitions and during the London Olympics in 2012. The suit alleges Nassar began grooming Raisman shortly after she joined the US junior national team.

The complaint says that the trauma of Nassar's abuse led to depression and fear for Raisman, and that she has lost millions of dollars as a result.

The amended complaint first was reported by International Gymnast Magazine. He's at the University of Michigan, not Michigan State University.

In her statement cited by NBC, Raisman said the USOC and USA Gymnastics were stonewalling on the question of what they knew about Nassar's behavior.

Fellow gymnast Maggie Nichols notified Team USA of Nassar's abuse in 2015.

Raisman's fellow Olympic champions Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas and McKayla Maroney say they were also abused by Nassar.

USA Gymnastics and the USOC did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Associated Press.

Nassar pleaded guilty last year and was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison in January on seven counts of criminal sexual misconduct in the first degree. I refuse to wait any longer for these organisations to do the right thing. "It is my hope that the legal process will hold them accountable". She offered an account of what happened in Nassar's basement that was given more detail in Jacob Moore's filing.

USA Gymnastics has undergone a massive overhaul in the previous year.

Moore's lawsuit adds to the litigation involving Nassar. Its longtime board chairman Paul Parilla, another co-defendant in the suit, and the rest of the board stepped down in January. Olympic Committee and Twistars Gymnastics, a Michigan-area club where Nassar treated injured gymnasts on a weekly basis.

"My highest priority has been to push for change, so future generations of athletes will be safer", Raisman said in a statement sent to NPR and other media outlets.

The abuse occurred during competitions and training, at events where the organizations were responsible for Ms. Raisman's safety and making sure that protocols were followed, the lawsuit said.
