Dillian Whyte happy to meet Deontay Wilder for WBC title talks

Whyte had weighed in at 18st 2lbs 2oz, nearly eight pounds heavier than when he outpointed British heavyweight Dereck Chisora in a notable 2016 victory, but still lighter than the 18st 11lbs 22oz Browne.

The British heavyweight produced a career-best win as he blasted out Browne with a huge left hook in the sixth round at The O2.

Whyte primarily looked to find a home for his big right hand for much of the round and was at least successful in opening a cut on Browne's left eye.

The 29-year-old Briton, who has now lost just once in 24 fights - to Anthony Joshua in 2015, ended Browne's unbeaten record in compelling fashion.

The ultimate goal for Whyte is to earn his shot at Wilder, win the WBC belt, then rematch his bitter rival Joshua with all four major titles on the line.

Whyte said the win proved he can win a world title.

The victor of the much-anticipated fight between Joshua and Parker is also expected to face the undefeated WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, who recently produced a tenth-round stoppage to beat Joe Ortiz to set up a clash with either Parker or Joshua.

Right when Kellerman began questioning if allowing the fight to continue was a good idea, things took a brutal turn in Round 6.

It is understandable for boxing fans to be frustrated given that it was a really good left hook from Whyte. "I was surprised how well it did - It wasn't massive but a decent amount of people got up to watch the fight which is encouraging". His best chance of a fight against the American knockout artist known as the Bronze Bomber will be if Parker beats Joshua at the Principality Stadium next Sunday morning.

The notion was put that Whyte will have sent such shockwaves through America with what Hearn described as "a showreel knockout" and that the WBC will be moved to mandate an immediate fight with Wilder. I'm No. 1 baby, let's go. "Let's get it on, no more excuses", he said.

"I hope the WBC makes [Whyte] the mandatory challenger [to Wilder]", Eddie Hearn, Whyte's promoter, said.
