According to reports, the paper had been leaked on social media hours before the exam.

. The Class 12 Economics exam was held on Tuesday, while the Class 10 Mathematics exam was held on Wednesday.

CBSE exam paper leakage news was circulating the most on social media at present. The board said that it has taken cognisance of "certain happenings in the conduct of examinations" after which the decision is being taken.

Dates for the re-examination of the two papers would be posted on the CBSE website within a week, the circular said.

Earlier, there were reports that the Accountancy exam paper of Class 12th had been leaked on WhatsApp. The matter came to light after Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia received a copy of the "leaked" paper.

However, the CBSE had reportedly denied reports of the leak then. Faced with demands for action, the government is looking to tighten the paper distribution process through encryption where schools will be given a key to print papers a short while ahead of exams. As Ananya Sanyal, a student from Noida, said: "This question paper was not too hard, I knew answers to most of the questions".

The Delhi Police's Crime Branch has also begun investigating the alleged leak of the CBSE's Class 12 economics paper and registered a separate case in connection with the alleged leak of the Class 10 mathematics paper. The CBSE Class XII exam is still underway and will end on April 12, 2018 with HOME SCIENCE as the last paper.

A lot of Class 10 students had found the mathematics paper easy and had hopes of scoring well.

From this year on, the government led by Yogi Adityanath initiated a slew of measures to curb illegal practices in the board examinations.

Meanwhile, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said, the government has taken cognizance of CBSE paper leak.

Pranav Viju, a candidate for the Class X examination, said he was "surprised" to read reports about the leak. "How many more attempts will the innocent students have to make for the education board to do its job?" But board denied any leak. On the date of the exam, teachers were stunned to find that the paper being circulated had same questions as in the actual question paper.
