"This decision was taken due to Assange's failure to commit to the written agreement he agreed with the government at the end of 2017, where he was obligated not to release any messages that would interfere with other countries' matters", it continues. He has hidden away claiming he could be extradited to the U.S. to face charges over WikiLeaks revelations, but he is also wanted by British police for skipping bail. Swedish authorities have since shelved their investigation on grounds they could not get access to him.
Assange also criticized the arrest of Carles Puigdemont, a politician and journalist who declared Catalan independence from Spain past year.

Earlier, former Greek minister Yanis Varoufakis and musician Brian Eno said in a statement they had heard "with great concern" about the lost internet access and ban on visitors.
"Only extraordinary pressure from the United States and the Spanish governments can explain why Ecuador's authorities should have taken such appalling steps in isolating Julian", they said. In October 2016, days after the US presidential election, Ecuador said it was temporarily restricting Assange's access in response to leaks of documents that it says impacted the vote. In the summer of 2016, the anti-secrecy site published hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee.
The country says that Assange's behavior could jeopardize its relationship with other countries, though it doesn't point toward any specific tweet as the reason for its decision.
