Bill Cosby's lawyer falls asleep in court

The jury in Cosby's first trial weighed the evidence for five days without reaching a verdict. "We are so happy that finally we can say women are believed".

The business fallout from the verdict was nearly immediate: Bounce, a TV network that caters to black viewers, announced it would drop reruns of "The Cosby Show".

She said the pills made her feel woozy, and when she was jolted awake Cosby was digitally penetrating her vagina, touching her breasts and masturbating himself with her hand.

The jury in Bill Cosby's indecent assault trial found the comedian guilty Thursday of all three counts.

On Wednesday, the sequestered jury of seven men and five women worked more than 10 hours.

Cosby was allowed to go home after surrendering his passport but will be sentenced at a later date.

Jackson, who was barred from testifying in the first trial, told the court Constand once told her "it would be easy" to fabricate an accusation of sexual assault against a celebrity to make money.

Andrea Constand, the former women's basketball team manager at Cosby's alma mater, Temple University, said the actor gave her pills to help her relax while the two were alone at her Elkins Park, Pa., house.

In her own closing argument, Cosby prosecutor Kristen Feden rebuked Bliss for engaging in "utterly shameful" and "filthy" character assassination of Constand and the others.

Of dozens of women who have come forward in recent years to accuse the entertainer of similar assaults stretching back to the 1960s, only Constand's allegations fall within the statute of limitations.

Cosby's new defense team, led by Mesereau, the celebrity attorney who won an acquittal for Michael Jackson on child-molestation charges, launched a highly aggressive attack on Constand and the other women.

Before knocking off for the night, the jury had Cosby's old deposition testimony read back to them. "I feel like I'm dreaming".

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Constand and Dickinson have done. Constand got a civil settlement of almost $3.4 million from Cosby.

Constand initially told police about the assault in 2005, a year after the assault occurred.

Constand was in the court room in Norristown, just outside Philadelphia, as the verdict was read out to stifled sobs in the gallery.

At the retrial, five other Cosby accusers testified as "prior bad acts" witnesses and said that Cosby had drugged and assaulted them decades ago.

Unlike past year, when Cosby's previous attorneys attempted to cast the Cosby-Constand relationship as romantic, they categorized her this time around as a gold-digger, pointing to the $3.4 million settlement she received from Cosby.
