Donald Trump admits Cohen represented him in 'crazy Stormy Daniels deal' Trump Acknowledges Michael Cohen Represented Him In Stormy Daniels Payment

"Michael would represent me, and represent me on some things", Trump said.

A federal judge appointed an independent "special master" on Thursday to review the documents the FBI seized from the home and office of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's longtime personal attorney, as part of the criminal investigation into Cohen's business dealings.

"This doesn't have to do with me". He has got a business.

On Cohen, the President both solidified his link with Cohen on the Stormy Daniels matter and distanced himself from his personal attorney, whom Trump said has overseen "a tiny, tiny little fraction" of his legal work. "And they're looking at something having to do with his business". "I don't know his business, but [the investigation] doesn't have to do with me". Daniels says that Cohen was acting on behalf of Trump to keep her quiet to avoid a scandal and that he had her sign an agreement not to talk about her relationship with Trump. "Well, if I can", Trump said.

Trump earlier denied any knowledge of a $130,000 payment made by Cohen to Daniels before the 2016 election.

Trump joined the show minutes after Fox News reported that his nominee for chief of the Department of Veterans Affairs, White House physician Ronny Jackson, had withdrawn his name from consideration in the face of allegations of professional misconduct.

But Trump quickly turned to slamming his own Justice Department's leadership, complaining that 13 of Mueller's investigators are Democrats, and that Andrew McCabe, the deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation who was recently fired just shy of his retirement, accepted $700,000 from a Clinton ally for his wife's unsuccessful 2016 Virginia state Senate campaign. "He represented me, and from what I see he did absolutely nothing wrong".

"Counsel should be prepared to address the process to be undertaken by a Special Master, should one be appointed, to review claims of privilege", Judge Wood wrote in her order summoning the parties to court.

The special master would be an outside third party who would initially review the documents seized during the FBI's raids and determine whether something falls under protected attorney-client privilege and what prosecutors could use against Cohen. "You'll have to ask Michael", he said. "I may change my mind at some point because what's going on is a disgrace", Trump said.

After seeking to allow Cohen to review the documents, Cohen's attorneys sought the appointment, while Trump has offered to review them himself.

Avenatti told the AP on Thursday, "This is going to add considerable momentum to our effort to depose the president and place him under oath in an effort to discover which version of the facts is accurate".

Trump's lawyer said in a filing in Los Angeles federal court that he would assert his Fifth Amendment right, something Trump has bashed on a number of occasions.

"Michael is a good person", Trump said.
