Saudi crown prince said Palestinians should 'shut up' or make peace

Pompeo Meets Saudi King, FM: Current Nuclear Deal Not Enough to Rein in Iran Two Jordanians on Trial in Saudi Arabia Over Spying for Mossad - Reports

Two Israeli nationals facing a raft of charges - including espionage and terrorism - kicked off Monday in a Saudi court, according to local media reports.

Abbas said the USA wasn't an "honest broker" anymore after Trump announced he would move the embassy and it was revealed then that bin Salman had pressured him to accept his peace route sheet which proposes Abu Dis, a small suburb outside Jerusalem, as the Palestinian capital instead of at least the eastern part of the city itself, a claim recognized by most countries in the global community.

The ceremony also included a three-act show that took the audience through time, examining Saudi Arabia's past, present, and future growth.

"The deal calls for building a new Jerusalem for the Palestinians from the surrounding villages and communities", he said. "We urge the Palestinians to return to the political dialogue".

Saudi Arabia now doesn't officially recognize Israel - although the two powers have a common interest in combating Iran. "We are open to a "two party solution" as a likely outcome".

Mohammed Bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's crowned prince, said Palestinians should accept the peace conditions imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump or "shut up and stop complaining", during a meeting with heads of Jewish organizations in NY.

While bin Salman criticised Palestinian leadership, he further stated that peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine would need to move forward before Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Arab states would normalise relations with Israel.

According to the report, the Saudi Crown Prince told the Jewish leaders that "in the last several decades, the Palestinian leadership has missed one opportunity after the other and rejected all peace proposals".

Al-Jazeera, quoting Channel 10 news citing Israeli diplomatic wire, reported that during a closed-door meeting on March 27 in NY with the Jewish organisations' leaders, bin Salman harshly criticised Palestinian President Mehmoud Abbas. The Saudi royal said Palestinian leaders should either accept peace proposals offered by the United States or "shut up".

Still, the heir to the Saudi Arabian throne said Palestine isn't a pressing issue for his government.

The US president, Donald Trump, has said he is offering Palestinians the "deal of the century", but diplomats and Trump's advisers have made it clear that Palestinian approval is not required.
