BREAKING NFF releases Super Eagles World Cup squad Little-Known Kano Pillars Striker Junior Lokosa Headlines Rohr's 30-Man World Cup List
Eugene Bates | 18 May, 2018, 16:05

"Bearing this in mind, I make bold to tell you that the players will surprise the world and themselves at the Mundial, " Izilien added.

Ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Super Eagles will meet President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on May 29.

Akinwumi said though Nigeria had yet to reach the height expected, the football house would stop at nothing to improve the lots of the national team.

"Well, the coaches picked him again, so the only thing I will say is at the end of the day I love coaches who pick players on merit and not sentiment", Disu continued.

"We are happy with what we have on ground and there is no worry in the camp at all, anything that may come up will be just a minor issue".

And with Nigeria set to play DR Congo, England and the Czech Republic to prepare for the World Cup, the former Abiola Babes defender believes some players, with outside chances, might use that opportunity to gatecrash the setup.

"All the same, the coach knows what he is doing and has picked his team, we just have to support him for Nigeria to do well in Russian Federation. But the coach has to do whatever he thinks it's the best", said the ex-Flying Eagles coach.

In Coach Rohr's 30-man provisional list are goalkeepers Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi, Dele Ajiboye and Francis Uzoho. "But for us to do very well, we need the right players".

On the inclusion of in-form Kano Pillars striker Junior Lokosa, Siasia said: "We've seen Ajayi play. But I pray it doesn't happen because I know it is been happening".

Rohr further explained that Nigeria will depart for Russian Federation on June 11, five days before their opening Group D match against Croatia.
