Warriors lead Cavs heading into 4th quarter

Curry switch Klay Thompson expects to play in Game 2 of NBA Finals with sore ankle

Probably the only thing that Stephen Curry doesn't have on the resume is an NBA Finals MVP.

Curry caught fire during Game 2 Sunday, leading the Warriors to a 122-103 win over Cleveland, repeatedly tossing in deep 3-point shots, in bunches, every time Cleveland tried to make a push.

In 38 minutes, Curry finished with 33 points on 11-of-26 shooting while hitting nine of 17 3-pointers. He'd sniffed the record before, hitting seven 3-pointers in three separate Finals games. Can Cleveland recreate its strong effort from last game and this time come away with a win despite being a double-digit underdog tonight in Game 2?

The Cavaliers and Warriors are meeting for the 4th consecutive NBA Finals, with Golden State having won titles in 2015 and 2017 while Cleveland captured the 2016 crown, rallying from a 3-1 deficit in the greatest comeback in finals history.

No team in National Basketball Association history has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit to win any best-of-seven series.

Curry left the game with less than four minutes to go in the game and the Warriors comfortably ahead. Draymond Green added 13 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, five steals and two blocked shots. How can the Cavs bounce back and take Game 2?

"It was a bunch of nothing", Curry told USA TODAY Sports after Game 1 about the sequence.

The Cavaliers coach, Tyronn Lue, paid tribute to his players for keeping the game close until the fourth-quarter but admitted the Warriors were the better team. Steph Curry paced Golden State with 29 points, nine assists and six rebounds. It was a crushing blow for the Cavs and they eventually ran out of steam in overtime, with the Warriors winning 124-114.

This was the 102nd consecutive game this season for James.

Kerr had also said Thompson was doing better Sunday morning when he checked in with the training staff.

Not only did the Cavaliers lose series opener, but it lost all of the thrust heading into second game, where the Dubs could completely take advantage of their home-court.

After first saying he knew the game was tied, Smith backtracked saying, "I can't say I was sure of anything at that point".

Las Vegas is thinking Golden State in Game 2 of the NBA Finals - and big.

LeBron James says the Warriors are pretty with Iguodala, and pretty good without him.
