Founded in 2010, Xiaomi has been selling its affordable devices in large markets such as China and India, and is looking to make a foray into Europe, starting with France and Italy. The Redmi 6 Pro is a high-end to mid-range smartphone.

The Redmi 6 Pro is priced at CNY 999 for the 3GB RAM variant, CNY 1,199 for the 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant and CNY 1,299 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.

Xiaomi also unveiled Mi Pad 4 alongside the new budget smartphone. The Redmi 4 Prime also featured a Snapdragon 625, which tells you all you need to know about Xiaomi's thought processes. Xiaomi's new Mi Pad 4 isn't exactly an upgrade over its predecessor when it comes to imaging. This year the company again made another instalment to the X series in China, with the new Xiaomi Mi 6X, another MIUI phone.

Talking about the tablet, the Chinese company also claimed that the new Mi Pad 4 is roughly 10 per cent smaller than the previous Mi Pad model. It runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The Redmi 6 Pro is the first Redmi device to feature a notch and we may see more Redmi devices being launched with a notch in the future.

Apart from notch display, Xioami Redmi 6 Pro's highlights are AI dual rear cameras, an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC, a 4000mAh battery, a dedicated microSD card slot, AI face unlock, and voice assistant features. The devices started retailing in China on June 5 and later made their way to France and Russian Federation.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.2, 4G VoLTE, Micro-USB, Wi-Fi 802.11, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs 14,600); both these variants are WiFi-only. The handset comes in Black, Blue, Gold, Pink, and Red colour variants.

RAM/storage options and pricing vary across three models: 3/32GB costs 999 Yuan ($153), 4/32GB is 1199 Yuan ($183), and the top tier model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will set you back 1299 Yuan ($199). The selfie camera is backed by the AI Portrait mode feature as well as HDR capability.
