Blumenthal told Stephanopoulos on "This Week" that the public supports abortion rights.

The simple fact is that the Supreme Court created a constitutional right to abortion out of whole cloth 45 years ago with the Roe v. Wade decision.

Trump is set to announce his nominee to fill the seat of retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy in a prime-time televised address Monday. Instead, the supposed right to abortions sprang from the imaginations of liberal activists who invented nonexistent constitutional rights to advance their ideological agenda. He likewise showed some sympathy to voting rights advocates' arguments against partisan gerrymandering and was expected to be a key to outlawing the practice when it next came before the court. Susan Collins, joining another group, Demand Justice, that wants her to oppose any Supreme Court nominee who declines to express support for legal abortions.

Since filming began on June 15, a number of people involved in Loeb's production have left, including the actress playing Norma McCorvey-known as Jane Roe in the high-profile legal case-a costumer, the film's electrician and the woman who was supposed to direct the film, leaving Loeb and his production partner Cathy Allyn to co-direct, Loeb told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview.

The poll surveyed 1,500 USA adults from July 1-3 through web-based interviews and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. A unanimous Supreme Court nomination would be unimaginable today.

Collins, a moderate Republican and abortion rights supporter from ME, is seen as a swing vote in the confirmation of the next Supreme Court justice. As long as these judicial nominees' skepticism about Roe v. Wade was not too overt, they were unlikely to encounter much opposition from the GOP's pro-choice wing - or even from pro-choice Democrats.

Blumenthal added, "The next justice on this Supreme Court will probably be the swing vote in deciding whether [the president] has to comply with a subpoena" from Mueller if a subpoena is issued.

ACLU national political director Faiz Shakir says the ads are meant as a "gentle plea" for Murkowski and Collins to follow their records and stand against any undermining of Roe v. Wade.

For most activists in the pro-life movement, a mere reversal of Roe was not what they wanted anyway, because they knew that reversing Roe would not end legalized abortion in the United States. One of these will have to get to the Supreme Court to enable a majority to overturn Roe.

GREAT FALLS, MT - JULY 05: Supporters of U.S. president Donald Trump attempt to block a supporter of U.S. Sen. As they've put together a campaign against the president's nominee, Democratic groups have found that informing voters of a looming threat to Roe - one that few saw as likely before the 2016 election - is one of their strongest messages.

"Red-state Democrats are going to have a very hard decision, and I hope every Republican will rally behind these picks, because they are all outstanding", he said.
