House lawmakers subpoenaed her to appear for a private interview and warned her that they would begin the process of holding her in contempt if she does not show this week.

The Republican chairman of the House oversight committee says Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent Peter Strzok (struhk) exhibited "textbook bias" as he investigated both Democrat Hillary Clinton and President Donald Trump's campaign.

After Watson Coleman had concluded her questioning, New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-Upper West Side) said he prepared a letter that called for former Breitbart editor and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon be called to testify before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees.

As soon as the questions got underway, the hearing devolved into a partisan verbal brawl as House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte struggled to maintain control of the crowded hearing room, which contained more than 70 members between the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees.

Ex-FBI attorney Lisa Page has agreed to testify before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees this week, The Hill reported Thursday.

One message that has received particular attention, and is likely to be discussed at the hearing, is an August 8, 2016 text in which Strzok, discussing with Page the prospect of a Trump win, says, "No".

One of those agents was Peter Strzok, the man who "oversaw the opening of the Russian Federation investigation". Both worked on the FBI investigation into Democrat Hillary Clinton's emails and later special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. He and an FBI lawyer he sent the messages to briefly worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the Trump campaign's contacts with Russian Federation, but were dismissed from the team previous year even though FBI agents are not prohibited from privately expressing political views.

The dossier, compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele at the behest of the research firm Fusion GPS, is 35 pages long, and alleged that the Kremlin had been "cultivating, supporting, and assisting" President Donald Trump for years under the direct supervision of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But Republicans lambasted the embattled FBI agent, accusing him of "textbook bias" in his handling of the Clinton and Trump investigations.

"Let me be clear", Strzok told more than three dozen members of Congress, as if his online activity hadn't been clear enough.

Strzok said on Thursday that "we" referred to the American people because he believed Trump would not win the election after criticizing families whose relatives have been killed while serving in the USA military.

You don't have to like Peter Strzok, or James Comey, or Robert Mueller, or anyone else involved in these various investigations.

That set up perhaps the most pivotal moment of the ongoing hearing, as Mr Strzok attempted to defend his, and the FBI's, integrity and explained that the texts in questions came after Mr Trump insulted the Muslim parents of a slain United States soldier. But the thought of exposing that information never crossed my mind. Within the FBI, those officials were often referred to as the "skinny group" because then-FBI Director James Comey and others sought to keep a tight grip on details of those investigations. It also requires nude public performances to end at twelve o'clock midnight.

Strzok had spent 11 hours being roasted by the same solons in a closed-door session last month.

Officials said Friday the committees had reached an agreement to question her behind closed doors on Friday, following an angry back and forth with Page's lawyer Amy Jeffress over what she called "bullying tactics" by the lawmakers.
