Hatice Cengiz, the fiancee of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, said that she believed Saudi authorities knew the location of his remains.

Anadolu said the Saudi prosecutor would inspect the Saudi consulate in Istanbul where Khashoggi was killed almost four weeks ago.

"I and my Government would like all those responsible, from the person who gave this order to those who carried it out, to be brought to justice and punished under global law".

The entrance to Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul, Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018.

"He [Jubeir] said we need to know what happened and it was very collaborative, in agreement", Mattis said.

Mr. Khashoggi, 59, entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2 to obtain paperwork necessary for his upcoming marriage to Ms. Cengiz, a Turkish national.

Jamal Khashoggi has not been seen since 2 October and President Trump has confirmed that he will not cancel existing contracts with Saudi Arabia because it would cost United States jobs.

Saudi authorities have arrested 18 men over the murder, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has requested the suspects be extradited for trial in Turkey.

"I am disappointed by the actions of the leadership in many countries, particularly in the USA", she later told an audience in London. "Let's not let money taint our conscience and compromise our values", she told a memorial in London for the slain Washington Post columnist.

Prince Mohammad, the kingdom's de facto ruler, has denounced the murder as "repulsive" and denied any involvement, while the Saudi leadership has pushed responsibility down the chain of command.

Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson repeatedly tried without success to negotiate a resolution to the crisis, which pits the small emirate against a Saudi-led bloc of four countries. "If only I knew that would be the last time I would see my Jamal, his smile, hear his laughter, I would have stood in front of that murderous team myself", she said.

"The administration is weighing different options and we'll make an announcement about what the decision of that action is", Sanders told a media briefing in response to a question about what actions the administration might take against Saudi Arabia. "In such circumstances, the Saudi Arabian authorities are responsible for this".

Ms. Cengiz said she had not been contacted by Prince Mohammed or the Saudi royal family, nor offered any condolences by them.

The US has revoked the visas of 21 Saudi officials they link to Mr Khashoggi's death.

"Turkey, with the evidence that they have compiled, will ensure that there is more than one review of what is going on here and I'm certain the investigation will include the evidence that Turkey has put forward so far", Mattis said in the press conference.

She said the murder had revealed the crown prince "not only to be a reckless, sadistic murderer. but an unreliable and treacherous ally".

Turkish officials have said the journalist was tortured and killed on the consulate premises and that his body was then removed.

"I found myself in a darkness I can not express", she said on Friday.
